About Us


Sahabat Kapas is a nonprofit NGO located in Karanganyar, Central Java, Indonesia working on the issue of child protection, especially vulnerable children and children in conflict with the law. We offer psycho-social support programs by providing services including psychological assistance, self-development activities, skill training and reintegration support. Established in 2009, Sahabat Kapas was founded and later is run by people who have deep care and concern for children. Sahabat Kapas is registered under Ministry of Law and Human Rights No. AHU-367.AH.04.Tahun 2010. To this date, it has benefited more than 600 juvenile inside the bars and more than thousands outside the bars.

Besides providing direct services for children, Sahabat Kapas also take part in creating more child- friendly and just society by advocating these issues in local, regional and national level. We also work with community organizations, schools, and local people to promote the fulfillment of child’s rights and the prevention of violence by numerous creative campaigns.

Our Missions

  • To conduct critical studies about the situation of and management policy for vulnerable children and children in conflict with the law
  • To give legal assistance for vulnerable children and children in conflict with the law
  • To provide critical education for those children that covers the area of life skills, cognitive advancement, and self-development
  • To raise awareness of the parents and government about the importance of the fulfillment of child’s rights
  • To create a medium to ensure the continuity of education and life of the vulnerable children and children in conflict with the law
  • To implement cross-sectors communication and social integration strategy and communication to guarantee the independence of vulnerable children and children in conflict with the law
  • To carry out campaigns and promotion of the better policies related to the fulfillment of the rights of vulnerable children and children in conflict with the law
  • To cooperate with community organization, government and private sectors to support the needs of vulnerable children and children in conflict with the law
  • To create information and database management system for vulnerable children and children in conflict with the law within organization
